Translation
I dreamt of a possible future1. I had caught the one hated by my tribe, but I forced him to calm himself2. Because of this, it was fated, and so I saw::
There came a beastly hare called Akan, so named for the Moon-God3, took too many men to kill, for the hated soul who I had killed was to kill it, and send it to the Underworld, which the souls call Charon4. The beast could kill with deadly lava. I wished to flee, fearing it. But it was not possible, so my flight came to guide it. Its magic is deadly, and because of what I had done, it came upon my land, which is called, like my tribe, Yuttopor.
Akan will see me capturing the hated one. But the tribe Arrine is to kill him5, and the light, who my murder would kill, will again illuminate.
Minor exegetics for when the relay is over.
- - One of many possible futures, by no mean certain
- - To be understood as a euphemism for death by torture, a grave offense against civility.
- - An emanation of Death.
- - A broad reference to the deathly realm and its psychopomp. Strictly said the text used 'Rarun', which I suspected to be a deformation of something like [χaron]
- - To occur should he not be killed in captivity, but released.
