You should learn how to make consonant charts. A proper chart has places of articulation (labial, dental, alveolar, ...) in front-to-back order in one dimension (usually horizontal), and manners of articulation (stops, affricates, fricatives) in order of increasing sonority in the other (usually vertical). Yours are inconsistent in this regard, and create the impression of the work of a newbie who doesn't know what he is doing. --WeepingElf (talk) 12:07, 1 June 2025 (PDT)
:Hi! Thank you for your observation. If you refer to the languages which are categorized under "Piti world" in my user page, the idea is that everything is "work in progress". I already wrote down an accurate grammatic description of every language on my computer, but, out of convenience, I wrote everything in Italian. Thus, I'm translating the grammars into English, not creating them as I write them down on Frathwiki. I know that in this stage of trasferring the grammars here, all the work might appear a bit confusing!
:I know quite well the IPA table and its structure. My idea is that all these languages are set on a different world, with their separated history and linguistic studies. I presented the charts, the way I thought the hypothetical linguists would have them analysed. My final idea is to have the page about each language's phonology presented like this: Novelatine phonology, with an IPA analysis at the end. But, out of a bit of laziness, this was meant as one of the last things I am going to do, given that I rearrange the IPA chart for each language. :) Bukkia (talk) 01:15, 2 June 2025 (PDT).

Hi!
The thing you are trying to do at User:Bukkia/sandbox#Vowels with a <div> inside a table doesn't look good at all in Firefox or Opera, although I can see in MSIE what it is you are trying to do. It would probably be better to do it with style rules applied to the table cells or the table as a whole. — BPJ 01:03, 12 April 2007 (PDT)

Consonant charts
You should learn how to make consonant charts. A proper chart has places of articulation (labial, dental, alveolar, ...) in front-to-back order in one dimension (usually horizontal), and manners of articulation (stops, affricates, fricatives) in order of increasing sonority in the other (usually vertical). Yours are inconsistent in this regard, and create the impression of the work of a newbie who doesn't know what he is doing. --WeepingElf (talk) 12:07, 1 June 2025 (PDT)
- Hi!
- I know quite well the IPA table and its structure.
