Every vowel has a short form and a long form.

Viene effettuata una distinzione tra vocali anteriori e vocali posteriori. Questa distinzione ha una valenza a livello di armonia vocalica tra la radice ed alcuni degli affissi.

All long vowels have an additional tonal feature, being every of them pronounced with an ascending tone. This feature, however, is not distinctive.
