The origin of this word has been disputed several times due to its unusually common usage, often hinting at different origins for different dialects, or some equivalent theory. But after some further evidence-gathering, it was Inaʰale, the renowned scholar, who discovered the true root of the word. However, some Sevvuferykilý are not convinced, and thus the active dispute goes on.
On
/ɔn/
Meaning - to do
From: ƆȤɺȿƆȤȜo /wæxɯwæno/ or ƆȤɺȿƆȤȜø /wæxɯwænæo/ (ȢȤȜȿ) - to do, practice, make a hobby, behave
| ƆȤɺȿƆȤȜo/ƆȤɺȿƆȤȜø | → ƆȤɺƆø (/wæxwæo/) or ƆȤɺƆȤȤ /wæxwæː/ | → wahwø/wahø/waha | → wøa/øa | → wan/øn/an | → ãn/õn/ön | → on/ún/en | → on |

It is not yet clear why this word underwent such significant simplification from ȢȤȜȿ to Gusvia, but it is thought that part of the reason for this is the ancient's heavy use of constructions expressing "do", even where most other languages use "be". For example, even in ȢȤȜȿ, the sentence "I am a good person" would be written as "ƆȤɺȿƆȤȜo εɓĦȿr ʌȤʌȤȿε" /wæxɯwæno səpɯœ tætæsɯ/, literally "I do like a good person" (i.e I conduct myself like a good person), but there has been no evidence of any expressions using the verb "ɦȤɓl" /jæəi/ (to be). This is likely to have led to a lot of simplification, as these expressions would also be used when speakers were under pressure, making ƆȤɺȿƆȤȜo the most common verb in ȢȤȜȿ.
