Kipin Morphology

Kipin morphology is highly irregular, due to morphophonological processes. It has a tendency towards head-marking.

Noun marking is split subject by gender. There are 3 genders, Human, Animal and Inanimate. Human and Animal nouns are Nominative/Accusative, whereas Inanimate nouns are Ergative/Absolutive.

Kipin verbs are polypersonal but not incorporating. They mark for the person, number, and in the third person, gender, of the subject, primary object, and secondary object. The role of the primary object may be altered by applicatives.
