Hredeka (Autonym: Ῥὲδῆκα [r̥è.dɛ̂.kā]) is the ancient language of the Hreda (Autonym: Ῥὲδα [r̥è.dā]), it is the descendant of the poorly attested Hroïdaïkan language, it is believed to be a Pre-Indo-European language, thus predating Greek in the area, though it was eventually superseded by Greek as the main language of the region, leading to many inheritances.
Etymology
The language's name comes from Hroïdaïkan "ΡΗΟΗΙΔΑΗΙϜΚΑΑ", composed of "ΡΗΟΗΙΔΑΑ" and "-ΗΙϜΚΑΑ", equivalent to modern "Ῥὲδα" and "-ἵκα".
The origin of "Ῥὲδα" is debated, some suggest Hroïdaïkan "ΡΕΑΑ" + "ΕΗΕΔΔΗΙΕ", but this would likely give "ΡΕΑΕΗΕΔΔΗΙΕ", "ΡΕΕΗΕΔΔΗΙΕ", or "ΡΕΗΕΔΔΗΙΕ", not the expected "ΡΗΟΗΙΔΑΑ".
