Pronouns are words used in place of nouns. They are usually divided into the following categories:

| Reflexive pronouns | himself, themselves, ourselves |
| Demonstrative pronouns | that, those, this |
| Possessive pronouns | mine, yours, his, hers |
| Relative pronouns | that, which, who |
| Interrogative pronouns | who?, when?, what? |
