Typological structure

Bīṙ is mostly a morphologically isolating language.

In an isolating languages, semantical or grammatical morphemes are almost coincident with single words, and they do not change or add any flecting affix. Moreover, words can have more than one grammatical role in a sentence:

ūb
build (verb) – construction (noun) – building (adjective)

The basic word order is essentially SOV (Subject-Object-Verb).

qɛ̱ṙ sū h́a̱
(the) person sees (a) cow

The entire system is set according to typological parameters of the modifier-head (or head-final) type:

  • object - verb
  • noun - postposition
  • adjective - noun
  • relative clause - noun
