Nämty is one of the languages belonging to Alri language family. It stems directly from Proto-Alri, the family proto-language. It has an alphabetical script.
Typological structure
Nämty is a morphologically agglutinative language, with an exclusive tendency to morpheme prefixation.
The basic word order is essentially SOV (Subject-Object-Verb).
tiħek nuħe märüg (the) person sees (the) cow
Some typological parameters are set according to the modifier-head (or head-final) type :
- object - verb
- adjective - noun
- relative clause - noun (as in the participial construction)
