Upper Ibex is a Hesperic language of the Alpianic branch, spoken in the Engadin valley in Switzerland. It stands in a particular areal relationship with Lower Ibex, which is a phyletically unrelated Eteonoric language. The speakers of the two languages formed what were, in pre-Christian times, two exogamic moieties of a single ethnic unit.
