Lazeic languages

The Lazeic languages are a branch of the Arithidic sub-family that descended from Classical Arithide, spoken in central and western Marcasia. Their name derives not from the city of Lazea, but from the Lazeian Empire of the Areth, which brought the Classical and Vulgar Arithide tongues with their conquest of the region. Though genetically Arithidic, the Lazeic languages today, despite being similar to one another, are markedly different from the Classical Arithide descendants spoken in Arophania, or even in southern Marcasia, due to historical geopolitical factors and the Pharrian linguistic union.
